Employment Placement Service

WORK is important for social and economic well being.  The Ministry of Social Development's focus in on assisting people to gain the skills that lead to sustainable employment, providing effective support to keep them in work, and make sure that work leaves them and families better off.

The aim of the Employment Placement Service (EPS) is to assist clients to prepare for and achieve sustainable employment.

The programme is targeted to appropriate work focused clients in receipt of a main benefit.  This service is targeted to to a minimum of 30% Youth, aged 18-24 years of age. 

The service is expected to be up to 12 weeks duration.  The service content is a package which include, but is not limited to the following:

• A recruitment process with designated Work and Income offices
• An Assessment to determine the client's eligibility and suitability for the service
• Comprehensive CV and covering letters
• Advice and assistance with budgeting
• Career Guidance and mentoring
• Advice and training for interview skills and techniques
• Job search techniques and understanding job suitability
• Arranging and assisting Clients to achieve interviews for employment
• Assisting interviews with potential employers where appropriate
• Arranging employment positions
• Advice and assistance with travel
