Testimonial from beneficiaries successfully placed into employment with Inwork support:
I would like to thank Tania from Inwork who found me a wonderful job after I was made redundant in my previous role. I am from the baby boomer generation and found it difficult to be shortlisted for an interview, let alone with a job. I had 42 years experience and it was an extremely disheartening experience to be turned down time and time again. I was referred to Tania by WINZ and from the beginning Tania was determined to prove my feeling that ‘age discrimination is alive and well in NZ’ as being completely wrong, I met with Tania once a week, working on my CV presentation, and interview skills. Within a very short space of time, Tania said ‘I have just the job for you - you are perfect for it’. I interviewed that afternoon and two hours after my interview, I was notified that I had won the job.
I am now the Office Manager at Waikato Suspended Ceiling Services Ltd. they are a wonderful company and I love their philosophy of ‘giving a go’ to WINZ beneficiaries. I am happily ensconced here- try and get me out if you can! I work with three other employees who have come through Inwork. they are wonderful staff, working hard for the company that believed in them.
Tania, thank you for your belief in me, and for not giving up. You really are extremely efficient at what you do, and work hard to ensure the interest of your clients. I think your company could teach a lot of good old fashioned values about belief in people, and persistence in find work for those on benefits, to your competitors.
Tania from In-Work NZ has been wonderful in persisting in finding me a job. I was out of work for six years and despaired of ever finding someone who would give me a chance. I wanted and needed to work, but after being out of the workforce for so long, I wasn’t given a second look. Tania worked with me on my CV, and was constantly trying to build up confidence. She also worked with me on my interview skills. Tania found a company who was willing to give me some work experience for a few hours a week, so that I had the opportunity to learn some technical skills, and begin to regain some of the confidence I had lost through the process.
I am now happily working with Waikato Suspended Ceiling Services Ltd, the company who gave me the work experience. They told me they like me and the way I worked, and offered me 37.5 hours a week, and as the business grows, my hours will increase. Can you imagine what that did for my confidence?
I am thankful to Tania from Inwork for not giving up on me and to Waikato Suspended Ceilings for giving me the opportunity to allow me to gain the experience I needed, come off benefit, and to be happily employed with a company that prides itself of ‘giving someone a go’. Thank you Tania and thank you Mark (Director of Waikato Suspended Ceilings Ltd).
